How to Encrypt Your Files

The main purposes for encrypting your files are to ensure your privacy, protect your data, and secure intellectual property.

Encryption adds that extra layer of protection for your confidential information and it should be enabled for everything and not considered something you only turn on when you’re doing something you feel is worth safeguarding.

Here’s how easy it is with WinZip:

  1. Open WinZip and click Encrypt in the Actions pane.
    Encrypt
  2. Drag and drop your files to the center NewZip.zip pane and enter a password when the dialog box appears. Click OK.
    Encrypt
  3. Click the Options tab in the Actions pane and choose Encryption Settings. Set the level of encryption and click Save.
    Encrypt

That’s it! You just learned how to encrypt and password-protect your files in no time at all.

Quick and easy, right?

Now you are ready to save, email or share your files with extra security.
