The more guesses it takes for a hacker to try and figure out your password, the better. That’s why it’s safer not to use personal data like names, birthdates, or even spouse names in your password. Those are easy to find online and go-to guesses for bad actors.
Rather than forcing symbols or uppercase characters, which often leads to passwords with predictable patterns, focus on length. Use at least 15 characters—and be sure to include a passphrase to make your password easy to remember.
