When you resize a photo, its contents don’t change. The entire image grows or shrinks, keeping its relative dimensions, shape, aspect ratio, and subject matter completely intact.
Sometimes, you need a rectangular image to fit in a square frame. Cropping cuts away excess space from the sides of your photo so it fits into the shape you need without stretching or warping the image.
Dragging the corners and edges of a photo to change its size can stretch and distort faces and objects. Resizing keeps your original ratio, and cropping trims the edges so everything stays to scale.
No. Resizing and cropping both happen entirely on your device. Nothing you convert is ever transmitted or stored elsewhere.
Making your image smaller with the Resize tab won’t make it blurry. Making it larger, on the other hand, can blur details since you’re not actually adding any more data to the image. You’re simply expanding what’s already there.
