WinZip Command Line
The WinZip® Command Line Support Add-On is a FREE add-on for users of WinZip with a valid license. Before installing this add-on, please make sure you have WinZip 17 or later installed.
The WinZip Command Line Support Add-On provides a command line interface that gives you the power of WinZip without the usual WinZip graphical user interface. It allows you to use WinZip directly from the command prompt and from batch (.BAT) files and script languages, making it ideal for automating repetitive tasks. An extensive set of command line options gives you pinpoint control over WinZip’s actions. And, in automated environments, end-users need not know anything about how to use WinZip.
The latest version of WinZip Command Line Support Add-On (v4.0) supports WinZip 17.5 features — most notably, the extended Zip file (.zipx). The .zipx file is created when using advanced compression methods within WinZip. When selecting “Best method”, or one of WinZip's advanced compression methods, a Zip file with a .zipx file extension will be created. The “Best method” compression option allows WinZip to choose the most effective compression method based on the file type includes support for LZMA, Jpeg, PPMd, bzip2, and WavPack compression methods in order to provide greater compression for many types of files.
