Why am I being asked if I want to zip a Zip file?
If a single Zip file or any one of a number of other types of files, as determined by their file extensions, is attached to a message it usually will not be zipped again by WinZip® E-Mail Companion. However, there are a couple of situations when you will be asked if you want to zip a Zip file.
If you have selected prompted zipping and have checked the 'Encrypt attachments when zipping' check box in the Zipping Options tab of the configuration dialog, WinZip E-Mail Companion will ask whether or not you want to zip any attachment, including Zip files. This gives you an opportunity to encrypt the attachment. This behavior is controlled by the check box labeled, 'Whenever encryption is requested', ignore the exceptions below and zip ALL attachments. This box is checked by default. Removing the check will stop this behavior.
Also, if you have attached multiple files, E-Mail Companion will always either prompt you to zip the files or if automatic zipping is set, it will automatically zip all attachments.
